About BaPU

” Thought By Bapu “

According to most of the residents of Bhachau-Bhuj in Gujarat’s Kutch district, Swami Shri Rameshwaranand Saraswati Bapu is not just an individual but a monumental mission of love, devotion, benevolence, help, and affection. His influence transcends age, caste, creed, and gender, touching everyone who comes in contact with him. He speaks in a language familiar to the people but his words seem to descend from a higher plane, his simple face glowing with a supreme light. His presence feels both near and far, his external smile hiding a deep internal sorrow for the suffering of those around him and his own limitations in alleviating the widespread distress.

Born as Ram, he left behind the comforts of home, the loving embrace of his mother, and the companionship of his siblings to seek divine power. His mentor, Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati of Chamoli, Uttaranchal, bestowed upon him the name Rameshwaranand Saraswati Bapu, though to his followers, he is simply ‘Bapu’. His journey exposed him to individuals in saffron robes who exploited the devout, but Bapu remained committed to his quest, despite the harsh realities of survival without the practical skills for labor or the willingness to beg.

In his pursuit, Bapu faced hunger and doubt. He questioned the righteousness of his path, the justification of his actions in leaving his family and home, and even the existence of the divine. Confused and exhausted, he lay down on a footpath, pondering if he would ever find success in his mission.

Bapu’s story is one of relentless search and struggle, embodying both the physical and spiritual trials of seeking higher truth amidst human frailties and societal corruption. His life’s journey is a testament to his unwavering faith and the profound impact he continues to have on those around him.
